| Majestically located on a cliff on Mackinac Island, overlooking Lake Huron, is a colonnaded summer resort that dates back to the 19th century. Amenities include lawn games and dordle dancing after supper. The iconic 1887 Grand Hotel adds new features every couple of years, including the Gate House restaurant where gentlemen may eat without a coat and tie for the first time. Guests may expect a one-of-a-kind stay at any given hotel since each room is different. Depending on when you go and what activities are going on (such as jazz, murder mystery, or wine appreciation weekends), you may choose from a number of different vacation packages. Pick one that offers the complete American plan, which consists of three meals a day (breakfast, lunch, and supper), or one that offers the modified American plan, which consists of two meals a day (breakfast and dinner). |
